Yuppie-isms

So, I am not a yuppie.  For those of you in your twenties, a yuppie is a phrase from the 1980s and means "young urban professional" or "young upwardly-mobile professional."  The word yuppie has generally disappeared from the American vernacular, but in my mind, still has a place.

Today's yuppies are those young professionals who buy their clothes at places like Forever 21, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, Urban Outfitters, New York & Co., etc.  But, they also shop at thrift and second-hand stores.  They are educated.  They are tech savvy.  They drink wine.  They take vacations.  They have disposable income.

There are many, many more things that might make someone a yuppie.  And that is what this blog is all about.  As I come across what I will call "yuppie-isms" I will share them with you.  This will help you in two ways:

1)  To spot the yuppies that may be surrounding you.
2)  To determine if you are, in fact, a yuppie yourself.

I'm always open to hear your feedback on the yuppies you see.  Please share.
